You should buy the Mavic Air 2 if you want an amazingly good value high entry drone which is simple to fly yet can provide you with close to professional standards for video and stills. It packs a host of features for creative work, and its on-board safety aspects give peace of mind. If you are particularly safety minded, the Airsense feature, using ADS-B technology, will alert you to aircraft nearby. It all helps to make your drone flying safe and secure.

The Mavic Air 2 is the drone I’d recommend to someone looking for more advanced controls and better video and photo quality than entry-level models but isn’t willing to spend more than $1,000. You won’t find a better drone for anywhere near this price.

The Mavic Air 2 is absolutely the drone to get. It sidesteps the connectivity and wind-resistance issues we experienced with the entry-level Mavic Mini, and has a much more capable camera all around. We'd still like to see DJI beef up the imaging features in its Fly app, but that doesn't come close to stopping the Air 2 from earning our Editors' Choice.

The best drone for most people, the Mavic Air 2 is a significant upgrade on its predecessor and our new favorite flying camera. It offers improved range, a noticeably longer battery life, excellent 4K/60p video and a whole host of new shooting features, all for the same launch price as its predecessor. Minor niggles aside, it's a superb choice for both stills photographers and filmmakers.

At the moment, the Mavic Air 2 feels very much like DJI's flagship drone. If you need the higher-quality image sensor of the Mavic 2 models—which offer a 1-inch sensor—then clearly the Air 2 is not going to cut it. But if you want something that flies well, offers 90 percent of what more expensive models offer, and costs less than $1,000, the Mavic Air 2 is an impressive machine.

Now the Mavic Air 2 can go faster, farther and take better pictures while preforming automated flight paths and object tracking. The Mavic Air 2 is the drone for most consumers. It hits the sweet spot of capabilities for the price.

The DJI Mavic Air 2 Picks up where the initial Mavic Air left off, hitting the market as the perfect drone in between the smaller Mavic Mini and larger Mavic 2 series drones. It also continues the trend of being one of the best camera drones on the market. The new 1/2-inch sensor, with 4K 60FPS capture and 120Mbps data.
