DJI Mavic Air 2 Specification

The DJI Mavic Air 2 is a Multirotors drone that was released by DJI in 27/4/2020.

A multirotor drone is a multiple propeller, vertical lift drone. These drones are more maneuverable due to their flight profile, being able to fly much closer to buildings and other obstacles. Multi-rotor drones like the DJI Mavic Air 2 also tend to be faster to deploy, and tend to be significantly cheaper to acquire and operate.

The battery capacity inside is 3950 mAh.

The DJI Mavic Air 2 sits on the slower side of drones, with a max speed sitting around 19 m/s. This might not be a bad thing though, so it really depends on why you're looking at buying the drone. If you're happy with a slightly slower drone then this one could be what you're after.

With a well above the average maximum range of 10 km, you're guaranteed a long-distance flight. Be assured you'll reach the distance you need, from the comfort of your mobile office, or even your couch, and know that your drone won't just disappear off into the distance.

The drone sits well within an average flight time when compared to other drones, with a maximum flight time of 34 min. This flight time will be plenty of the average user, and should give you more than enough time between charges. You can always bring an extra battery to swap out between flights, or just a battery pack to charge it up as you go should you need a little more flight time.

You should buy the Mavic Air 2 if you want an amazingly good value high entry drone which is simple to fly yet can provide you with close to professional standards for video and stills. It packs a host of features for creative work, and its on-board safety aspects give peace of mind. The Mavic Air 2 is the drone I’d recommend to someone looking for more advanced controls and better video and photo quality than entry-level models but isn’t willing to spend more than $1,000. You won’t find a better drone for anywhere near this price.

The Mavic Air 2 is absolutely the drone to get. It sidesteps the connectivity and wind-resistance issues we experienced with the entry-level Mavic Mini, and has a much more capable camera all around. We'd still like to see DJI beef up the imaging features in its Fly app, but that doesn't come close to stopping the Air 2 from earning our Editors' Choice.

The best drone around for beginners and hobbyists

The best drone for most people, the Mavic Air 2 is a significant upgrade on its predecessor and our new favorite flying camera. It offers improved range, a noticeably longer battery life, excellent 4K/60p video and a whole host of new shooting features, all for the same launch price as its predecessor. Minor niggles aside, it's a superb choice for both stills photographers and filmmakers.

With a major camera upgrade, new automated flight modes, and longer flying times, this is the drone we recommend you get.

At the moment, the Mavic Air 2 feels very much like DJI's flagship drone. If you need the higher-quality image sensor of the Mavic 2 models—which offer a 1-inch sensor—then clearly the Air 2 is not going to cut it. But if you want something that flies well, offers 90 percent of what more expensive models offer, and costs less than $1,000, the Mavic Air 2 is an impressive machine.

The DJI Mavic Air 2 Picks up where the initial Mavic Air left off, hitting the market as the perfect drone in between the smaller Mavic Mini and larger Mavic 2 series drones. It also continues the trend of being one of the best camera drones on the market. The new 1/2-inch sensor, with 4K 60FPS capture and 120Mbps data.
